Eastern States Aboriginal Languages Group has partnered with ABC Open to run Our Mother Tongue a project which will promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages and language programs nationally.

The project is starting as a pilot in Victoria, with language materials being recorded for broadcast in the run up to NAIDOC week 2012.

This is the first film of the series. You can read more about the project and this film on ABC Open Albury Wodonga. Congratulations to ABC Open producer Suzanne Taylor (Albury Wodonga) and the language workers and students at Parkes on such a fabulous production.

Don't forget to leave comments on the ABC Open website after you watch the film. The more support we can show for the project the more support we will get from the ABC.

The film will also screen on ABC Open's TV program, on ABC News 24, during NAIDOC week.
