Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Languages Project and First Languages Australia – Indigenous Language Speaker Series

Throughout the International Year of Indigenous Languages, First Languages Australia worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to send language artists and advocates to twelve international posts. The visits were very well received by the hosts and provided excellent professional development opportunities for the visitors. We are looking forward to working further with the Department in preparation for the International Decade of Indigenous Languages, which begins in 2022.
