Gambay placenames page is live

A placenames page has been added to Gambay to help us collate and promote the names and stories that language custodians wish to share. The site can also be found via the ABC Indigenous website.

The page showcases community efforts to collate and promote place names in their regions such as the pulingina to lutruwita, Kaurna and Boodjar Nyungar place name maps; as well as This Place stories that community members produced with the ABC.

First Languages Australia, the ABC and the Permanent Committee for Place Names will be collaborating to promote the site through NAIDOC.

Custodians are welcome to contribute place names to the map at any time. Photos, videos and stories can be attached to the place names but are not necessary. Contact us.
