There has been momentum in Victoria regarding providing training for people who wish to teach their languages independently in schools. First Languages Australia would like to congratulate the Victorian Department of Education and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association (VAEAI) for investing in Aboriginal language teacher training and enabling paraprofessional registration (senior teacher level) to people wishing to teach their language as a school curriculum area.
