First Languages Australia CEO, Beau Williams, provided the keynote address at Yuuingan Dhilla Yari, the State Library of Queensland’s 2023 Indigenous Languages Symposium. Beau’s keynote was live-streamed and preceded by a strong speech by Leeanne Enoch MP, the Minister for Treaty, Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Minister for Communities and Minister for the Arts. The gathering also allowed the Queensland Indigenous Languages Advisory Committee to meet with the Queensland Government to reinvigorate their partnership and work together on the Many Voices Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Action Plan.
