Welcoming our new team members

First Languages Australia would like to introduce new staff members, Kaleesha Morris, Stacie Salter and Maree Burke-Brown.

Kaleesha Morris is a Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti and Kulkalgal woman who has experience with First Nations communities around the world in the areas of law and policy, strategy and governance, language revitalisation, environmental management and cultural education. Kaleesha will work with Beau Williams on the National Languages Policy Partnership.

Stacie Salter is Warrgamay, Taibalang and Gurang woman who comes to First Languages Australia from the Central Queensland Language Centre where she has held the position of Coordinator for the past five years. Stacie will be coordinating our events and social media.

Maree Burke-Brown has been managing First Languages Australia’s accounts as a casual contractor since 2017 and has now moved to a full-time position as Operations Manager based in the Newcastle office.

We look forward to growing our work family further in 2023, adding specialists in communications, engagement, data, finance and policy. If you are a First Nations person passionate about languages who would like to work with us, please contact us.
