Master-Apprentice Conference

The Pertame Language School have invited their Native American mentors to share the Master-Apprentice method with other communities in Australia. They are inviting community members working to keep their languages strong to a four-day conference in Alice Springs that will run from 8 to 11 August, 2022.

The Master-Apprentice method was developed by Indigenous language communities in California and has proven to be the most effective method for endangered language communities with the least resources. Conference attendees will receive practical training on how to implement a language-learning model designed specifically for communities with small numbers of speakers and limited resources.
