Election commitment: First Nations Languages Education

We are pleased to have negotiated the reframing of the election commitment for $14 million for 60 language and culture teachers in schools.

The program will now target community language learning activities. The new First Nations Languages Education program will resource community language classes, language teacher trainees and community-led school partnerships.

The Australian Government Department of Education and First Languages Australia are now working together to design the funding program, which will be launched in the coming months. Watch this space!
