Language Policy Partnership secretariat planning

The National Language Policy Partnership is a process that brings government and community together to identify and action the systemic changes required to implement the Closing the Gap Priority Reforms and achieve Target 16. In line with Priority Reforms one and two, the National Language Policy Partnership secretariate is also a collaboration between government and community, as a partnership between the Office of the Arts and First Languages Australia.

Community organisations and government operate very differently so working together takes constant balancing and negotiation. The secretariat met in person for the first time in March for a two-day reflection and planning session. Facilitated by Collaboration for Impact, the session allowed for frank discussion and strategic thinking about how we best provide foundational support to the National Language Policy Partnership members so that they can do what they need to do.
