The Revised Australian Curriculum: Framework for Aboriginal Languages and Torres Strait Islander Languages

In May, the Revised Australian Curriculum: Framework for Aboriginal Languages and Torres Strait Islander Languages was released.

Written in collaboration with First Nations language teachers and educators around Australia, the new framework is an accessible a tool for developing language teaching programs. As always, language teaching must be community-led, with the framework available as a tool to support planning, delivery and assessment where it is useful.

First Languages Australia believe that school-based language educators and the communities supporting their work will find the revised framework much easier to use. ACARA have also released a support resource to assist program planning. This resource will continue to be adapted based on language teacher feedback.

You can access the new curriculum documents here.
