Global launch of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages

Representatives of First Languages Australia, the Pacific Task Force and the Directions Group attended the launch of the International Decade of Indigenous Languages in Paris in December 2022. Our representatives joined with language activists from around the world for the launch event, which included cultural programs, speakers, thematic roundtables and a reception. The representatives made a presentation about their work in setting the direction for the Decade. They also participated in a joint event with the Canadian delegation on protecting languages in a multilingual context.
