Animated first language greetings premiere on ABC ME

ABC Education has worked with eight young speakers from around the country to share greetings in their Aboriginal languages. The children were illustrated by Barngarla artist Jonas Dare and feature in a series of beautiful animations being played on ABC Me each weekday at 10 am.

ABC TV Education Manager, Fiona Yaglipinar, said, β€œThe Good Morning project is one small part of the ABC Walking Together initiative that seeks to reflect, listen and build on the shared national identity of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. It aims to raise awareness of the incredible linguistic diversity of Indigenous Australia, encouraging young Australians to interact with the languages of the land on which they live. We were delighted to collaborate with First Languages Australia and the participating families on this beautiful series.”
