Warra: First Languages Youth Forum

Held in Tarntanya (Adelaide) in November, Warra was a spectacular success bringing 80 language activists aged 30 years and under together for two days of workshops, presentations and conversations. Attendees led presentations, participated in panel discussions and skills development workshops, and used the opportunity to share their vision for their languages and inspire others to continue and extend their work. For many attendees, this was the first time they had attended a national forum or networked with people outside their regions.

First Languages Australia would like to thank all our supporting organisations, attendees, and the ABC. We would particularly like to thank Annalee Pope for her above-and-beyond effort in organising the forum and ensuring that everyone was well looked after and had a fabulous time. We look forward to staying in touch with all the attendees as we continue our Young Champions activities into the coming year.
