National Education Summit

Robert Ah Wing and Melinda Holden from First Languages Australia with Stacey Saltner from the Central Queensland Language Centre and the National Education Summitt - Brisbane.

Melinda Holden and Robert Ah Wing represented First Languages Australia at the National Education Summit in Brisbane on 4 and 5 June 2021.

The event was an excellent opportunity to speak directly with teachers and teacher-librarians about the free educational resources we have developed.

Gambay, the First Languages Map, was a key feature of our exhibit and presentation. Melinda spent much of her time helping attendees to locate themselves on the map and identify resources available in their region.

At the same time, Robert coached people through what is required to build relationships with local language custodians and appropriately embed languages in the classroom.
