Indigenous Voice

First Languages Australia responded to Minister Wyatt’s call for input into the national voice proposal. Our submission highlighted a number of needs:
• In whatever form that consultation determines, The Voice is to be enshrined in legislation.
• Nominees to national and regional Voice governance structures to have a clear understanding of and, hopefully, experience in promoting the strength of their own and other languages.
• Government and the national and regional Voice structures to have a strong understanding of community language needs across the diversity of language contexts throughout the country.
