Pay rates project

Information is being collected from language centres nationally to establish appropriate pay rates for all of us in the language sector. A detailed analysis of the diverse roles and skills required across all areas of language work has been the first part of this project. Benefits of establishing an industrial award for the sector have already been identified. The project aims to support language centres in the employment of staff with a range of skills and experience. In addition, it intends to provide guidance to the Indigenous Languages and Arts program around the levels of funding required for language centres to be sustainable.
